Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin: a fleeting goodbye

The German capital performs for the last time a version of the fashion week. This time in a virtual way.

The COVID-19 pandemic has created a new way of looking at fashion and each of its events. Never before has there been so much closeness between brands and their customers, and never before has information rotated so quickly and immediately. Fashion as a business has been affected, however, it has found facets with a lot of potentials as it is: Virtuality. Beyond the social networks, brands have created links to keep up.

Eleanor Lambert, I would never have imagined that fashion weeks would be enjoyed from the comfort of home. Today, the big five of fashion, the public is rare and designers strive to create universes that take care of social distance and the health of the few who attend.

This is also the case at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin, which takes place from 18 to 20 January 2021. Labels such as Tom Van Der Borght, Marc Cain, Lou de Bètoly and Belize will be showing their new collections for Autumn/Winter 2021 by digital streaming . Odeeh, Marina Hoermanseder, Esther Perbandt and Working Title present their designs with other famous German designers.

The Berlin Fashion Week will be held in Frankfurt from summer 2021 onwards, and in the following editions twice a year in January and July, reported the organizer Premium Group today. The Berlin Fashion Week will thus be transformed into the Frankfurt Fashion Week next year.
